During my first year in college, I had no knowledge about hackathons and had never even heard of them. Although some of my college mates were participating in and winning these events, I remained unaware due to my limited activity on LinkedIn. Only later, I discovered the world of hackathons and realized their significance in fostering innovation and creativity.

In my second year, as we were assigned to our respective departments, one day our teacher asked about a student who had won a regional-level hackathon. To my surprise, it was the student sitting right beside me. I vividly recall the moment everyone applauded, and the teacher praised him. It was then that I truly understood the significance of participating in hackathons. Witnessing the recognition and appreciation he received for his achievements ignited a strong desire within me to explore hackathons and make my mark in this exciting world of innovation and problem-solving.

After that encounter, I couldn’t help but feel intrigued about hackathons. I approached the student and inquired about his journey of exploring these events, how to participate, and the requirements involved. Numerous questions swirled in my mind. As days passed, we grew closer and became good friends. One day, I spontaneously proposed the idea of forming a team and taking on hackathons together. He seemed a bit confused at first since he already had a team. However, after much contemplation, he finally agreed to team up with me, and that marked the beginning of an exciting and fruitful partnership.

This marks the conclusion of Part 1 of my blog on hackathons. I hope you found it insightful and engaging.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll delve deeper into our journey as a team, our experiences in hackathons, the challenges we faced, and the valuable lessons we learned along the way.
